Arthur H.W. Williams

Consultant | Statesman | Legal Authority

With over four decades of distinguished legal practice and public service, Arthur H.W. Williams stands as a pillar of Jamaica’s legal and political landscape. A seasoned Attorney-at-Law and diplomatic leader, Arthur brings unmatched experience in civil litigation, commercial law, and real estate transactions—anchored by an extraordinary record of national service.

Arthur began his academic journey at the University of the West Indies, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Government and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B). He later completed his professional training at the Norman Manley Law School, earning his Certificate in Legal Education and was called to the Jamaican Bar in October 1978.

His legal career has been defined by consistency, depth, and integrity—representing clients in high-stakes litigation, complex commercial matters, and property transactions for more than 40 years.

But Arthur’s impact reaches far beyond the courtroom.

In 2002, he was appointed a Senator for the Jamaica Labour Party, marking the beginning of an illustrious political career. He went on to serve at the highest levels of government, including:

  • Minister in the Ministry of National Security (2007)

  • Minister in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service

  • Cabinet Minister without Portfolio, Office of the Prime Minister, with responsibility for Public Service and Information (2011)

Arthur’s influence expanded internationally when he became Jamaica’s representative to the Inter-American Development Bank, later serving as High Commissioner to the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, and currently as Ambassador to the Republic of China.

Now serving as a Consultant at Young Law, Arthur brings a rare blend of legal mastery, governmental insight, and diplomatic acumen to the firm’s clients. His counsel is not only legally sound—it’s informed by decades of leadership at the highest national and international levels.

A statesman. A strategist. A trusted legal mind.

Arthur H.W. Williams continues to shape Jamaica’s legal, political, and diplomatic future with wisdom, clarity, and quiet authority.
